So… hey all. Been a while, huh?
If you didn’t notice my quick edit I made on the last page, my Dad died in January, and it’s basically been the hardest time of my life. I loved him so much, and I wouldn’t be the artist I am today if it wasn’t for him always supporting me. So I’m grieving and also scrambling to deal with all the life stuff that came with it.
ON UPDATES: So while I’m SORT OF trying to get back into updating, I may be kind of nonchalant on the schedule for a while as I continue to deal with things. There’ll probably be missed weeks when I just can’t handle the added stress. I may even go with a “I’m gonna update whatever comic I feel like” thing for a bit (though luckily I’m on some pretty interesting parts on both Knell and Devil’s Trill).
Thanks for understanding, and as always, for reading.

After a long, kinda painful break (because I spent a chunk of it with COVID), we’re finally back. Thanks for bearing with me, everyone. Knell updates next Thursday, then Devil’s Trill again the Thursday after that.
The couple Patsy and the Snow White-ish lady are talking about are Neil Cunningham, who you all probably know was the big mouth slanderer at the Pierce party, and Claire, who was the lady in green who was next to him who said that Miriam deserved the gallows. They are now engaged or at least in the Victorian process of becoming engaged. Perfect couple. :\

UPDATE 1/2/23: Sooo, hey all. While I spent the first couple of weeks making art for Devil’s Trill and Knell like I planned, my actual two “break” weeks ended up being me recovering from COVID as well as worrying about family members who also got it. So yeah, it was quite a Christmas. x_x I am just now starting to feel physically normal again, but don’t feel mentally ready to return to comicking yet, so I’m taking one more week off to actually have legit rest time, so long as life remains chill for a moment.
Which means Devil’s Trill will return next Thursday, and Knell the week after that. Sorry for the continued delay.

Comic updates won’t be happening in December, not only because I’ll need a break around Christmas, but because I’m making the beginning of this month a time of getting some promo art made for both The Devil’s Trill and Knell.
It’s hard for me to make art while making comic pages, and I thought that might be a good way to have some new art ready for the new year… if I have success with said arts of course, they’re always trickier for me than comic pages and I still don’t know how busy I’ll be, but I’d like to get ONE good one made for Devil’s Trill at least. XD
Anyway on to the cover – First off the “alway” is not a typo. The chapter title is based on a Stephen Foster song of the exact same name. Still using era-appropriate song titles for chapter titles.
So I guess that means we have a Chapter song!
Also when drawing this page I read that the tiered stand there would actually have an order to what’s put on them, like I think usually little sandwiches would be at the bottom, and at first the accuracy-obsessed side of me wanted to change it, but then I realized, this is at Florian’s house, and he would absolutely say, “Pile that shit from top to bottom with cakes”, only, y’know, in a more Victorian way. XD
