Devere: You don’t have to be so afraid of me, you know.
Also Devere: I want everyone to be afraid of me.

Devere’s house has a porch on both sides, this is the other side we didn’t see.
Some notable details: A barn, chickens (don’t ask me what kind they’re fantasy world chickens haha), and an animal bone wind chime. XP

That insect has been around since the earliest drafts of this story. It’s called a Lightwing, and it’s something of a butterfly and moth combo, but glowy. :3 I’m still trying to figure out how best to color/render it.

And don’t ask me what Devere used for the makeshift bag shoes there. I imagined the brown wrappings being leather maybe, the bottom part…I dunno. XD

We are now outdoors. A glowing white butterfly-like insect known as a lightwing flutters by, leaving a trail of light behind it.
Knell (off screen): I-I really can make it back on my own...

As the lightwing continues on it's path, we see a zoomed out shot of Devere's land behind it, now bathed in sunlight. Knell sits on a bench on the cabin's back porch as Devere seems to be tying some things around her bare feet. The porch has a wind chime made of bones. Nearby is a barn with a fence around it, as well as gray and brown chickens pecking at the grass.
Devere: I'm just escortin' you out of the swamp. I'll leave off at the cemetery, alright?
Knell: ...Okay.

Devere stands up, Knell staring at him as he does.
Devere: There.

Knell looks down at her feet that are now wrapped up in a brown fabric, possibly leather. He also used some sort of harder material to act as an outsole, and thin rope to keep it all in place. Knell wiggles her feet as she observes her new bag shoes.
Devere: Ain't much, but they'll do until you get home, I guess.
Devere picks up his cloak that was sitting beside Knell on the bench.

He faces away from Knell and starts pulling it on. Knell looks back up at him.
Knell: Um... do you have to wear that all the time?
Devere: No.

Knell looks uneasy but speaks her mind anyway.
Knell: Then why do you? It makes you look... a li'l scary.
Devere looks back at her with a faintly irked expression as he fastens the clasp of the cloak.
Devere: Good.
