Same violin.

I decided to try using more thick lineart at this point but hadn’t quite found a balance yet, so now parts of this are far more BOLD than I like, but the prologue pages have a lot of experimentation going on. XP

The young man's eyes move up slightly to look at something on the wall in front of him.

We see he's looking at a large painting of an older, stern-looking gentleman with a monocle and blonde hair that's so lightened with age it may as well be white. He has a black cape with a large gray collar, and he's holding up a maple violin in his lap with one hand. His other arm is hidden beneath the cape.

Suddenly the young man undoes the snaps on his violin case...
...and opens it, revealing the same maple violin that's in the painting.
